Baltimore Lyric: Directions
Patrons can easily get to the Lyric Opera house of Baltimore by car or puyblic transportation. Accessible from highways 95, 295 and 83, patrons can combine a visit with the nearby Baltimore Inner Harbor. Baltimore's Penn station is only 2 blocks away and can be reached by MARC and Amtrak.
Driving
From the North and Northwest:
Take 1 - 83 South (Jones Falls Expressway) to Exit 5, Maryland Avenue. Go straight through the traffic light to the second street (Mount Royal Avenue). The Lyric is on the left and the Bolton Yards Parking Lot is on the right.
From Washington:
Via Interstate 95 - north to Baltimore: As you approach downtown, you will see I - 395. Take I - 395 toward the Inner Harbor/Downtown. Stay on your left. The second traffic light will be Pratt Street. Make a right on to Pratt. Take Pratt to Charles Street and make a left. Follow Charles about 20 blocks until Mount Royal Avenue. Make a left on to Mount Royal and the Lyric is one block down on your right.
Via 295 Baltimore Washington Parkway: As you approach downtown, you will see I - 395. Take I - 395 toward the Inner Harbor/Downtown. Stay on your left. The second traffic light will be Pratt Street. Parking
Limited street parking is available. Be careful of any signs indicating illegal parking as many spaces are for truck unloading only or must be cleared between 4 PM and 6 PM for commute periods. On the weekends, the University of Baltimore Parking Lot, located at the corner of Mt. Royal Avenue and Oliver Street just across from the theatre, is available for patrons.
Public Transportation
The University of Baltimore/Mount Royal Light Rail Station is located almost directly across from the Lyric Opera House. On weekdays and Saturdays, trains run from 4:45 AM until 11:45 PM north to Hunt Valley. Trains run south to Glen Burnie, weekdays and Saturdays, from 4:24 AM until 11:40 PM. Sundays, trains run both north and south between 11 AM and 7:25 PM. For more information, please call the Mass Transit Administration at 410-539-5000.
Baltimore's Penn Station is two blocks northeast of the Lyric. Daily service between Washington's Union Station and Baltimore on both MARC and AMTRAK is available from early morning until 11:30 PM. For more information, please call 1-800-USA-RAIL.
